Your privacy is very important to Bluefire. We’ve developed this Privacy Policy that describes how we collect, use, disclose, and communicate personal information. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our privacy practices and feel free to contact us if you have any questions or comments.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

Personal information is data that can be used to uniquely identify or contact a single person.

You may be asked to provide personal information when using Bluefire Reader or other Bluefire branded products, websites or services, and when contacting us. Bluefire may use such personal information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Below you’ll find some examples of the types of personal information we may collect and how we may use it.

What personal information we collect

When you make a purchase, activate or sign-in to Bluefire software and services, register for an email newsletter, or otherwise contact us, we may collect information that identifies you—such as your name, email and physical address, phone number, and credit card information.

How we use personal information:

The personal information we collect allows us to reply to support requests and other inquiries, to deliver our products and services, and to provide product information and news that you have requested. We may also use personal information in the course of data analysis to help us improve our products, services, and operations.

Personal information will not be shared by Bluefire with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number or email address. If we learn that we have collected the personal information of a child under 13 we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.

Protection of Personal Information

Bluefire takes precautions to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as against unauthorized access, disclosure, deletion or alteration. We protect personal information by safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including the use of physical, administrative, and technological measures.

Bluefire online services use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on some web pages where personal information is collected. To use these services you must use a browser that is SSL-enabled. SSL encryption helps protect your personal information while it is being transmitted.

When you use Bluefire products to post on social networks, forums, or any publicly accessible online service the information you share is visible to other users and can be read, collected, or used by others.

You are responsible for the personal information you choose to post or otherwise share via these methods. Please take appropriate caution when using these features and services.

Bluefire has a company-wide commitment to your privacy. We communicate our privacy policies and security guidelines to Bluefire employees and strictly enforce privacy safeguards within the company.

Retention of Personal Information

We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy or as required by law.

Accuracy of Personal Information

Our goal is to keep your personal information as accurate, complete and up-to-date as necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used, and to make it easy and convenient for you to keep your information up to date.

Access to Personal Information

We make good faith efforts to provide you with access so you can request that we correct your data if it is inaccurate. You may also request that Bluefire delete your data. In certain circumstances we may decline to process certain requests that are unreasonably repetitive, jeopardize the privacy of others, or are impractical. Access, correction, or deletion requests can be made by contacting us at privacy@bluefirereader.com.

Disclosure to Third Parties

At times Bluefire may make certain personal information available to trusted business partners and service providers in order to provide our products, services, and customer communications. For example, when you install and authorize Bluefire Reader on your device you permit Bluefire and its DRM platform providers to exchange the information you provide in order to authenticate your account credentials and to exchange data necessary for the functioning of the DRM.

Service providers

Bluefire shares personal information with companies that provide services to us such as processing and managing information, processing transactions, and delivering products and services. These companies may be located wherever Bluefire operates. They do not have the right to use the personal information we provide to them in any way that is not authorized by Bluefire or explicitly permitted by you, and they are obligated to protect your information.

Bluefire does not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

Others

It may be necessary for Bluefire to disclose personal information under special circumstances, such as when required by law, legal process, litigation, or if we determine that disclosure is necessary or appropriate for purposes of law enforcement inside or outside your country of residence. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our customers and users, or to enforce our terms and conditions.

Your personal information may be transferred to the relevant third party in the event of a Bluefire merger, reorganization, or sale. Subject to any legal restrictions or obligations, you will be notified as soon as reasonably possible following the completion of any business transaction during which, or as a result of which, your personal information was transferred or disclosed to a third party. Such notice may be given as an announcement on the Bluefirereader.com website.
